The Kitsch is a garage rock band from Bogota, Colombia. They have a raw and primitive sound that has evolved to fit into the Californian garage revival scene, strongly influenced by bubblegum vocals. Since the band started in 2009, it has become one of the country´s leading alternative rock bands with its forward-thinking sound and energetic live shows.
The have been the support act of international bands such as Black Lips, Foals and Green Day. They've played in some of the most important festivals in Colombia, such as Festival Estéreo Picnic, SOMA, Festival Centro and Hermoso Ruido. The Kitsch has also toured Mexico, as part of renowned festivals such as Festival Marvin. The band will also visit Spain during November of 2018, in a tour which includes important appearances such as a showcase at Monkey Week Sevilla.
The Kitsch released their first EP “Baila, Mami Baila” in 2014 and then went on to win the Rubber Tracks by Converse contest, with which they recorded and released their second EP “Orange Three”. In 2016 they released their first full-length album “Amor A Primera Vista” and after two years of touring with this records, the band is now ready to release new material. In December of 2018, The Kitsch will release Los Kitsch de Colombia Presentan, the first in a series of EPs which will be put out during the upcoming months.
